GAMBIAN CULTURE & TRADITIONS

There are many ethnic groups in The Gambia. Most people are multi-lingual, able to speak three to four locals languages beside English and French. Those languages belong to tribes which Gambians belong to; Mandinka, Wolof, Jola, Fula, Serahule, Ako, Serer. Different ethnic groups have variations in the way they conduct weddings, funerals, naming ceremonies, etc. The majority Gambians are Muslims so also Christians have different locals customs regarding births, deaths and marriages.

Ceremonies are part of daily and social life of Gambians. If you will book your holidays with us, we will make sure, you will be able to be part of an important day for baby or the bride & groom. It is experience you will never forget.
